The Greene County boys soccer team has advanced to the second round of postseason play after topping Panorama 11-1 last Monday at home.
The Rams traveled to Humboldt High School to face the 12-1 team on Monday, May 20. The season ended there for the Rams with a 2-1 loss to the Wildcats.
Against Panorama, the Rams scored 10 goals in the first half of the match, holding the Panthers to just one. Greene County scored once more in the second half of the game, putting the game to rest by going 10 goals ahead of the Panthers.
“Proud of the boys and getting the win like we should,” commented coach Carl Behne. Gabe Ebersole was in the goal for the Rams, credited with three saves, but was taken out of the game after being slammed into by an opponent. Teagan Chisholm found himself in the goalie position due to Marcus Ball being out with an injury.
“Teagan came in and came up with two big saves. He played well and confident, especially not thinking there was any chance he would be playing goalie tonight,” added coach Behne.
Gesser Gutierres scored five of the Ram goals, with Nathan Behne scoring four with four assists. The team scored their 11 goals from 13 shots on the goal.
